Put It In The IEP

Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 20, 2026  |  Last Updated: September 20, 2026  |  Version: 2026.1

Agreement to These Terms

Welcome to Put It In The IEP. By checking the box to agree before you upload a document, you accept these Terms of Service ("Terms") and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy. These Terms also apply whenever you use any other part of our site. If you do not agree, please do not use Put It In The IEP.

Put It In The IEP is operated by Nova Parent Collective LLC, a California limited liability company ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Nature of the Service

1. What Put It In The IEP Is

Put It In The IEP is an AI-assisted tool that reads one school document at a time, such as an IEP, 504 plan, or school letter, and explains it in plain language. It offers a free read and a paid field guide. The field guide covers what may be missing, questions to ask, how the process works, and possible next steps. Put It In The IEP provides general information about federal special education and disability protections for students. You must agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy before you upload a document.

What Put It In The IEP Is Not (Not Legal, Medical, or Case Management Advice)

2. How the AI Works

Put It In The IEP uses artificial intelligence to generate information and decision support. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, or case-management advice. Here is how it works:

  • Explanation of Logic: The AI explains the document you upload using federal special education and disability protections for students.
  • Limitations of Automated Guidance: The AI's outputs reflect general program criteria and do not account for state and school district variation, recent policy changes not yet in the AI's training data, or the specific facts of your individual case as a human advocate or attorney would evaluate them.
  • No Automated Eligibility Determination: Put It In The IEP does not make eligibility determinations. Only authorized government agencies (such as your child's school district or state education agency) can determine eligibility. The Service identifies programs worth exploring, not programs you qualify for.
  • Human Review Required: All AI-generated guidance is for self-advocacy support only and should be reviewed by a qualified professional before being used to make significant decisions about services, appeals, or legal matters.
  • Right to Explanation: You may contact us at any time to request a plain-language explanation of how the Service generated a particular recommendation.
Crisis and Safety Protocol, Service Not Monitored; No Emergency Use

This tool is not monitored in real-time. If you or someone you care for is in immediate danger, call 911. For mental health crises, call or text 988. For domestic violence support, call 1-800-799-7233.

Documents and AI Processing

  • You may upload one document per analysis: an IEP, 504 plan, or school letter, as a PDF or photo.
  • Upload only documents you have the right to share, such as your own child's school records.
  • Put It In The IEP offers two results for the same document: a free read and a paid field guide. You can download the field guide as a PDF, which is created on your device.
  • Put It In The IEP does not write letters, requests, or complaints for you, and it does not file anything on your behalf.
  • We delete your document automatically after your analysis, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use your document to train AI.

The field guide costs $39 for one document, or $29 if you provide a field guide from a document you bought before. We hold the payment when you start and charge it after your field guide reaches your browser. If the analysis fails, we release the hold and you are not charged.

You Stay in Charge

You make every decision about your child's education and what to ask the school for. Using Put It In The IEP does not create an attorney-client or advocate relationship.

Material changes will be notified by updating the version number and effective date and, where required by law or at our discretion, by additional notice via the Service or email if you have provided one. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
